Specialized Programs at ViaMar Health

At ViaMar Health, we understand that eating disorders often stem from deep-rooted emotional and psychological challenges. Our specialized programs are designed to address these underlying issues through targeted, intensive therapeutic approaches. These programs offer a deeper level of care for individuals who require focused interventions to support their recovery journey.

Intensive Trauma Work

Trauma can be a significant contributing factor to the development of eating disorders. Our intensive trauma work is designed to help individuals process and heal from past traumatic experiences that may be impacting their mental health and eating behaviors. We use a variety of evidence-based therapies to address trauma, including psychodrama, inner child work, and EMDR providing a safe and supportive space for deep emotional healing.

Psychodrama

Psychodrama is a powerful therapeutic technique that allows individuals to explore and resolve emotional conflicts by acting out scenes from their lives. This experiential therapy helps participants gain new insights into their emotions, behaviors, and relationships, leading to profound healing and personal growth.

Inner Child Work

Our inner child work focuses on reconnecting with and healing the wounded parts of oneself that may have been formed during childhood. This approach helps individuals understand how past experiences have shaped their current behaviors and beliefs, empowering them to nurture and heal their inner self, leading to healthier coping mechanisms and self-perception.

EMDR

Our EMDR therapy centers on addressing and healing the unresolved emotional wounds that often stem from past traumatic experiences. By processing these memories, individuals can break free from the negative beliefs and behaviors that have developed over time, gaining clarity on how their past has influenced their present. This healing process fosters healthier coping strategies and a more positive self-perception, empowering individuals to move forward with greater emotional resilience and well-being.

Extensive DBT and CBT

Our specialized programs also include extensive use of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), two of the most effective therapeutic approaches for treating eating disorders and associated mental health issues.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

DBT is particularly effective for individuals who struggle with intense emotions, self-harm behaviors, or interpersonal difficulties. Our DBT program focuses on teaching skills in four key areas: mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. Through DBT, individuals learn how to manage their emotions more effectively, reduce harmful behaviors, and improve their relationships with others.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

CBT is a widely used and highly effective therapy for addressing the negative thought patterns and beliefs that contribute to eating disorders. Our CBT program helps individuals identify and challenge these harmful thoughts, replacing them with healthier, more realistic perspectives. This therapy is essential for breaking the cycle of negative self-image and disordered eating behaviors, promoting long-term recovery.

Comprehensive and Individualized Care

At ViaMar Health, our specialized programs are integrated into a comprehensive treatment plan tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual. By combining intensive trauma work, psychodrama, inner child work, EMDR, DBT, and CBT, we provide a “whole-person” approach to recovery that addresses both the psychological and emotional aspects of eating disorders.

Our goal is to equip individuals with the tools and insights they need to achieve lasting recovery and a healthier, more fulfilling life.
